i bought this book on saturday along with a couple of others (mainly due to the price lol yeah im cheap lol) i scanned the tv listings this morning and with nothing on and the rain throwing it down as it does during a normal british summer. the books id bought caught my eye, initially i picked it up thinking it was one of richard and judys summer reads, turns out it wasnt but it was a decent page turner, its not as good as some of the others ive read this week like "the cairo diary" or "down river" but it was just as gripping i sat for an hour this morning and fell through the first 50-60 pages and decided after lunch id read a few more, i slipped fell and accidentally read the whole thing and it was really enjoyable, well written and the people in the book while some are flat others were very believe-able, i liked how the chapters jumped though time allowing you to in effect read 2 storys at the same time while not loosing the plot of either

I had been struggling to find a book to hold my interest until I came across promise not to tell. The story is easy to follow which is always a bonus in the school holidays when you get constantly interrupted! The story itself is interesting and gripping and it made my heart race in fear in a few parts. The only problem I had with this book is that it wasnt long enough!!!

I read this book in a day, I just couldn't put it down, the one bad thing about it was that it wasn't long enough! Fantastic read, I wouln't normally have picked it up as I really don't think the cover does it justice, if it wasn't for the strapline at the top I probably wouldn't have even noticed it. Seriously, read it, you honestly won't want to stop.
