This novel is amazing - I can hardly believe a real person made up the story, however weird that sounds. It's such a brilliant plot, gripping and positively Dostoevskyan (if that's a word, which I fear it aint!) It's got true depth and substance, but with all the grip factor of a commercial airport/beach thriller. The characters are superbly brought to life - again, it's hard to believe the author invented them, they seem so real. And the book has a lot to say about identities - how we delete our painful pasts and reinvent ourselves. I'll be rushing to read more of this writer's work
